What do I need to do for the registration?

Participants must sign up for an Alibaba Cloud account and activate it to register for the hackathon. If you do not have an Alibaba Cloud account, please sign up for an account here: https://bit.ly/ACacctregister

Why do I need an Alibaba Cloud account to participate and how do I activate my account?

Accepted Answer

You would need an account in order to receive cloud credits that you can utilize on the Alibaba Cloud products at the Hackathon on March 7. You'll need to add a payment method or pass student verification to activate the Alibaba Cloud services.

What if I already have an Alibaba Cloud account?

Accepted Answer

Please share with us your 16 digit Account ID during registration. Please make sure it is the account you will use for the Hackathon as we will issue you your credits to the account on the day of the Hackathon.

Question 4

Do I need to have a team to register?

Accepted Answer

It will be great if you already have a team. But you can register as an individual and form a team on the day of the Hackathon. Alternatively, you can compete individually.

Question 5

When do I need to form a team by?

Accepted Answer

Form your team by March 7, 2024, 12:00 PM (GMT+8). Member changes won’t be allowed after this deadline.

Question 6

Must I use Alibaba Cloud services for the project?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a qualified submission must use required Alibaba Cloud services such as  Alibaba Cloud's Platform for AI (PAI), AnalyticDB and other required products

Question 7

What type of project should I/we develop?

Accepted Answer

Develop AI applications that solve real-world problems or create new opportunities. Identify a problem or market need, conceptualize and build a functional AI solution using Alibaba Cloud's services. You will need to demonstrate a clear use case, and its potential for commercial or social impact

Question 8

I'm part of the Alibaba Group, may I join the Hackathon?

Accepted Answer

Yes, members of Alibaba Group can participate in the hackathon, but they will be excluded from the prizes.

Question 9

How would winners receive the cash prizes?

Accepted Answer

The cash prize will be given to one participant from each winning team. If the team wants to split the cash prize, they would need to make their own arrangement.
